Current opportunities

Marine Engineer

Marine Engineering has been the backbone of Linked Solutions' operations since the beginning, and as such we are looking to take on more marine engineers. Contract workers are preferred, but full or part time based employment options will be considered for the right candidate. For us, experience, ability and professionalism are paramount when selecting candidates, as we have high standards and work to maintain a strong reputation amongst our clients. Engineers may be expected to travel at short notice, but additional pay will be granted in compensation. Ample notice will generally be given at the early stages of a project to avoid regular short notice travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake site assessments and surveys.

  • Ensure clear and thorough communications with the client and the managing director.

  • Inspection work.

  • Travel to sites away from home.

  • Servicing and commissioning throughout the UK.

  • Mechanical & Electrical PLC and fault finding.

  • Providing Timely reports.

  • Day to day housekeeping.

  • Consistently meet deadlines.

  • Workshop duties when required.

Requirements:

  • HNC/HND or Equivalent Qualifications.

  • 5 years experience.

  • Experience in Warship, super yacht, or commercial shipping.

  • Health and safety aware.

  • Confined spaces trained.

  • Good mechanical background.

  • Three phase and PLC fault finding skills.

  • Ability to provide the following engineering services:

    • Design & inspection

    • Engines, propellers, rudders, stabilisers,

    • Air conditioning & ventilation

    • Refrigeration

    • Hydraulics

    • Domestic systems works

    • Pipework

    • Must be able to pass a full comprehensive drug and alcohol test

Preferences:

  • Contract employment

  • Proven record in both self lead and group projects

  • Ability to gain security clearance

Marine Engineer

Fabrication Engineer

Linked solutions are always on the lookout for talented and experienced Engineers. We currently have a need to expand our team of fabrication engineers to allow us more flexibility in our operations. We are considering many working arrangements, including Full Time, Part Time, and Contract based employment. For us, having the right engineers is the most important factor for our business. Experience, ability and professionalism are the main 3 factors we consider when looking at candidates.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Quality control of fabricated products.

  • Ensure clear and thorough communications with the client.

  • Ensure clear and thorough communications with managing director/team leader.

  • Consistently meet deadlines.

  • Day to day housekeeping.

  • Working accurately from engineering drawings.

  • Self motivate to work independently.

  • Seamlessly fit into a team of engineers for larger projects.

  • Time management.

  • Travel to sites away from home.

  • Providing timely reports.

  • Fully comprehensive with client’s permit for work documentation requirements.

Requirements:

  • Fabricating a variety of products.

  • Experience with NDT.

  • Confined space aware.

  • Trimming, filling, grinding and finishing of metal products.

  • Experience of ARC, MIG and TIG.

  • Experience of fabrication from drawings.

  • CSCS Card.

  • Field relevant qualifications.

  • Ability to roll, bend and press plate metal.

  • Must be able to pass a full comprehensive drug and alcohol test.

  • Willingness to work across the UK, and potentially globally.

​

Preferences:

  • Contract based work at various different sites.

  • Previous coding (preferably in date).

  • High level field relevant qualifications.

  • Ability to gain security clearance.

  • Working from height ticket.

  • G6 coding, stainless to stainless.

  • Confined spaces ticket.


Pay:

  • Dependant on experience and employment type.
